Want to Write a Book? This Online Group Coaching Program Will Help You Do It
/Many people dream of writing and publishing a book ‘someday’, but statistics show only about 2% of those people actually realize their dream. I’m going to share a secret weapon with you that’s helped me with my books, and I know it will help you too!
It’s very fitting that I’m writing this post on March 8, 2019, International Women’s Day. It’s the final day of the Women In Publishing Summit, hosted by one of my favourite women in publishing, Alexa Bigwarfe.
Two years ago, I met Alexa after I won a spot in her group coaching program for writers as part of an online summit I was speaking at. Talk about divine intervention—I didn’t even know there were prizes for speakers or that one of them was for writers. I had just published my first book and had started working on my first novel, so I was super excited to meet Alexa and learn about her program.
Because I’m such a fan of Alexa and the work she does, this post contains affiliate links for her programs. This means, if you make a purchase using one of my links, I will receive a commission at no extra cost to you. I only share affiliate links for programs I have participated in and find truly helpful. Phew, now that the legal stuff is out of the way, let’s get on with the good stuff―group coaching for authors!
A Brief Introduction to Success Publishing Academy
Success Publishing Academy (SPA) is a comprehensive program for anyone who’s been struggling to get their book written and published. The Academy is run by Alexa Bigwarfe, a seasoned author and publisher (Kat Biggie Press).
One of the many strengths of the program is that early in the program, you create an action plan. This action plan serves as a timeline for you to follow through the whole process of getting your book out in the world and selling.
The program includes eight modules delivered over six months. Here’s a breakdown of the modules:
Module 1: Understanding the Seven Stages of Publishing
Module 2: Writing and Understanding Your Publishing Options and Timelines
Module 3: Understanding and Establishing the Publishing Timeline
Module 4: When to Start Marketing
Module 5: Working with Editors
Module 6: Self-Editing and Tools for Editing
Module 7: Marketing and the Facebook Pixel
Module 8: Beta Readers, Advance Readers, and Endorsements
Check out the sales page for a month-by-month breakdown of what will be covered in the program. The sales page also includes many free previews you can watch.
How Success Publishing Academy is Different
Oh, let me count the ways!
1. Keeps you accountable
SPA isn’t a one-and-done program. It’s as unique as you are. Accountability is the biggest difference I noticed about the program. This is the only group coaching program for writers (that I know of) with built in accountability. Alexa includes time on the calls for taking action. So, if you don’t have your ISBN yet, you can take time during the call to go get it!
2. Includes all authors
Another great thing about this program is it works whether you are planning to self-publish or go the traditional route. Alexa is completely supportive regardless of the route you are taking because she realizes each author has their own journey and their own reasons for wanting to publish.
3. Presents the total package
I also love that SPA covers everything from writing your book to publishing and marketing it. Other programs I’ve taken have focused on only one of those areas, but if you want to make a living as author, marketing your book is just as important as writing and publishing.
SPA is a comprehensive program that supports you through the entire process. It’s easy to ask questions and the group calls help keep you accountable. You even get amazing bonuses like a section on author mindset and 15% off author services like editing and cover design.
If you’ve been struggling to get your book written and published, I hope you’ll give SPA a try. As an alumni, I look forward to seeing you in our exclusive Facebook group.
